D&H 35991 "TANKED" TANK CAR

The D&H gas transport car is unique in that it is listed as a tank car but it is really a set of high pressure tanks mounted on a flat car. It dates from 1912 and was built in the railroad's own shops. It was used to haul illuminating gas derived from coking operations in the steel industry. The gas was used for passenger cars and stations.
